With over 25 years of experience as a professional educator, he currently serves as a Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Specialist in Washington, D.C., where he is committed to empowering individuals through education and technology.
A passionate leader in the African Catholic and African Diaspora communities, Deo serves as the Vice President of the African Catholic Association of the DMV and is an active member of the Prince George’s County African Diaspora Advisory Board. In these roles, he fosters cross-cultural collaboration, supports community development initiatives, and advocates for policies that uplift African immigrant communities.
As a community organizer based in Bowie, Maryland, Deo specializes in harnessing the power of the African Diaspora to drive tech entrepreneurship and encourage direct civic engagement in both American and African socio-economic and political affairs. His work bridges the gap between innovation and advocacy, ensuring that African immigrants have a voice in shaping their communities.
In addition to his professional and advocacy work, Deo volunteers as the Director of Operations and Programs at Democracy Partners, a civic nonprofit organization with operations in California and Maryland. In this role, he oversees initiatives that promote democratic participation, social justice, and equitable policy development.
