Remembering SCDC’s Treasurer, Mirinda Jackson

The South County Democratic Club is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mirinda Jackson, a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength within Prince George's County and beyond. Her role as the Minority Business Enterprise Compliance Manager for the county council was marked by unwavering dedication and a commitment to fairness and opportunity, which resonated throughout the business community and beyond. Mirinda's journey was distinguished not only by her professional achievements but also by her dynamic personal qualities. 

Her pragmatic, clear-thinking approach to advocacy and her relentless support for small, minority, and women-owned businesses were hallmarks of her character. Her efforts were instrumental in navigating the county through the tumultuous waters of the COVID-19 pandemic, proving her as a champion of resilience and growth during times of need. 

Her contributions extended into the political arena as well, where she served as the esteemed treasurer of our club. Collaborating closely with figures such as current and former presidents, Courtney Finklea Green, Dr. James Dula, Dr. Juanita Miller and Tamara Brown, Mirinda exemplified the essence of leadership and community service. Her insights and contributions were invaluable, strengthening the fabric of our club and the principles for which we stand. 

Beyond her professional and political endeavors, Mirinda was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration to many. Her kindness, caring nature, and unselfish demeanor touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her legacy is a testament to the impact one individual can have on the lives of many, fostering a community spirit that endures beyond her time with us. 

As we mourn the loss of Mirinda Jackson, we also celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on Prince George's County and the South County Democratic Club. Her memory will serve as a guiding light, inspiring future generations to lead with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equity. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time. Mirinda's powerful legacy will forever lovingly be etched in the history of our community, reminding us of the significant magnitude of dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the greater good.
